We kick off the week with a quick montage! This was fun to make! I promise that the training he receives from his ORIGINAL Sensei is MUCH MUCH more intense though! I cannot wait to showcase that, but it is still quite a ways off! Enjoy folks!

lol most of this "training" is just Ariah torturing him. And Sky is being chained to bombs? Oh dear...
Cattimus 8th Jun 2020, 9:49 AM edit delete reply
๐Ÿ˜†. They arenโ€™t bombs just really heavy ball & chain style weights!

Harsh training... hard to beat the laws of physics xD

And did she ever work for the Mob?
Cattimus 8th Jun 2020, 12:57 PM edit delete reply
๐Ÿ˜† well she is a crazy deadly assassin! And her history is murkier than Iโ€™ve shown so far!

Yeah at first i thouhgt they were like some kind of dynamite but it is like oil drums dragging on the ground or somthing.

Plyometric training for explosive power?
Cattimus 9th Jun 2020, 9:59 AM edit delete reply
๐Ÿ˜ In that particular mini panel she has him dragging logs!

Still, the ground appears to be on fire.

If you look, Ariah is in a boat, and it looks like Sky has to keep his head above water while being anchored with weights.
If he only remembered that he can CONTROL water, he wouldn't have to struggle...

...Unless that's part of Ariah's training too - to force him to use his elemental powers...
Cattimus 9th Jun 2020, 10:01 AM edit delete reply
My man! You stated it exactly! Skyโ€™s whole focus in that panel is to stay afloat and simply strengthen himself. Even though he can manipulate water, that whole training is focused on restraint.
KAM 8th Jun 2020, 11:31 AM edit delete reply
Yes, Sky, because your enemies will respect your taking a break. ;-)
Cattimus 8th Jun 2020, 12:14 PM edit delete reply
๐Ÿ˜† that is the whole point of this story arc! Heโ€™s been thrust into a world where there are no breaks!

You need rest for your body to repair. All training will break you down eventually. Rest = training
Cattimus 9th Jun 2020, 9:56 AM edit delete reply
๐Ÿ˜† He is only 16 going on 17! He still wants to enjoy what little he has of his teen years!
sigpig 8th Jun 2020, 10:41 PM edit delete reply
Sky, Luke never asked for a "break" while training under (literally) Yoda on Dagobah...

Cattimus, have you ever read "Old Man's War" by John Scalzi? There are some very similar training techniques; as in the trainer knows what the trainee is capable of, but has to convince the trainee that he/she can actually do these things (ie: a marathon run at a speinter's pace).
Cattimus 9th Jun 2020, 9:53 AM edit delete reply
I have not but Iโ€™m always up for a great read! Thank you for the recommendation!

Jeezz im new to this comic but thats jest harsh man.
His element may be water but if you challang yourself you will never know what your full power is.
Cattimus 9th Jun 2020, 9:57 AM edit delete reply
Just wait until you see his later training ๐Ÿ˜ˆ
FurryDragon 9th Jun 2020, 4:29 AM edit delete reply
Sorry if my spelling sucks
Cattimus 9th Jun 2020, 9:52 AM edit delete reply
Itโ€™s all good! Iโ€™m glad youโ€™re enjoying my story!

I see she subscribes to the Turtle School training methods. Has he plowed an entire farm field by hand too?
Cattimus 9th Jun 2020, 9:47 PM edit delete reply
๐Ÿ˜† not really. The training I showcase in chapter 31 is pretty intense! But I cannot spoil that here!
